Volunteers participated in fund-raising activities

Members of NWS Volunteer Alliance took part in several fund raising activities, including Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital Day 2010 - Charity Walkathon and Bazaar and the 9th Charity Walk for the Elderly organized by Senior Citizen Home Safety Association.

Dancing Workshop

NWS Volunteer Alliance organized a Dancing Workshop for 24 members on 25 August 2010. Chow Man Fai, Founder of Amateur Chinese Dance Promotion Centre and winner of the Hong Kong Volunteer Award, was invited to demonstrate how Chinese dancing could be incorporated into volunteer services. NWS Volunteer Alliance Dancing Team was also set up.

Used Book Recycling Campaign

To raise fund for the school construction project in Shannxi Province, NWS Holdings fully supported the Used Book Recycling Campaign organized by World Vision Hong Kong by collecting over 600 used books from colleagues. Some 20 members of NWS Volunteer Alliance assisted in selling used books on 14 and 15 August 2010.

Volunteers participated in fund-raising activities

Members of NWS Volunteer Alliance took part in several fund raising activities, including selling flags for Fu Hong Society, The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council, 1^st Step Association, End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation, Playright Children's Play Association and Senior Citizen Home Safety Association respectively, as well as participating in One - dollar Sale organized by ABM Hong Kong Swatow Baptist Church Community Service Association, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hong Kong Raffle Sales 2010 and Pink Walk Against Breast Cancer 2010.

Photography workshops for volunteers

To enable volunteers to master basic photography skills, NWS Volunteer Alliance organized two Photography Workshops on 19 and 26 June 2010. Elaine Kwee, a photography enthusiast and a non-staff member of NWS Volunteer Alliance, was invited to teach skills in exposure, composition, etc., at the workshops. Volunteers proceeded to take outdoor photos during the second session.

NWS Volunteer Alliance members assisted in dance performance

On 12 June 2010, 13 members from NWS Volunteer Alliance offered their assistance to "Crazy for Dance 30s－The Warmest" Chinese Dance Performance in pre-show preparations and backstage coordination. Organized by HKIEDSU Chinese Dance Arts Volunteer Society, the performance featured elderly and physically-challenged dancers.

The members of NWS Volunteer Alliance took part in several fund raising activities, including selling flags for Hong Kong Playground Association, Society for Community Organization, The Boys' Brigade Hong Kong respectively, as well as participating in The Seventh Walkathon "Walk for Happiness" organized by Hong Kong Christian Service and 2010 Christian New Life Association "Dare Youth No Drugs" Walk & Family Fun Fair.

Charity Laisee Campaign

NWS Holdings participated in the Third Charity Laisee Campaign organized by Hong Kong Christian Service from 14 to 28 February 2010 and received the Highest Participation Award and the Best Fundraiser Award in the corporate category
