Volunteers participated in fund-raising activities

Members of NWS Volunteer Alliance took part in several fund raising activities, including selling flags for Hong Kong Association for Cleft Lip and Palate, Hong Kong Buddhist Society for the Blind, Green Power, Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, Hok Yau Club, Echo Valley Evangelistic Association for the Handicaps, Against Child Abuse, Caritas Hong Kong, Kwun Tong Methodist Social Service and 1st Step Association respectively, as well as participating in Ronald McDonald House Charity Raffle Ticket Sale 2011 and ORBIS Mid-Autumn Festival Charity Sale 2011.

The Community Chest's Dress Casual Day

On 30 September 2011, the Corporate Office participated in The Community Chest's Dress Casual Day again for fundraising, which will benefit 150 NGO members supported by The Community Chest.

MSF Day 2011New World Group participated in MSF Day 2011 and raised HK$480,000, becoming the corporation with the highest amount of funds raised five years in a row.

NWS Volunteer Alliance members helped in dancing competition and activity

On 17 April 2011, 15 NWS Volunteer Alliance Dancing Team members participated in a dance performance organized by HKIEDSU Chinese Dance Arts Volunteer Society and provided assistance both on and off stage. The team won the Gold Award for their outstanding performance in the dancing show.

Members also participated in a fun day organized for Care For Your Heart to demonstrate and promote Chinese dancing to rehabilitants of heart disease on 26 June 2011.

30-Hour Famine Camp 2011

30-Hour Famine Camp 2011On 16 April 2011, 25 NWS Volunteer Alliance members joined 30-Hour Famine Camp 2011 hosted by World Vision Hong Kong where they actively participated in the workshops and fasting sessions in support of famine relief in third world countries.

Members of NWS Volunteer Alliance took part in several fund raising activities, including selling flags for Hong Kong Christian Service, Chinese Evangelical Zion Church, Society for Community Organization, Christian Family Service Centre, Centre for Restoration of Human Relationships, Hong Kong Rehabilitation Power and The Boys' Brigade, Hong Kong, as well as participating in Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service of Hong Kong Charity Walk and 2011 ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital mobile strings Charity Sale. The Group also received The Highest Participation Award and The Best Fundraiser Award in the corporate category at the Charity Laisee Campaign organized by Hong Kong Christian Service.

Chinese New Year Gifts Donation Programme 2011Between February and March 2011, NWS Holdings, NWCL and New World Strategic Investment Limited supported the Chinese New Year Gifts Donation Programme 2011 organized by the People's Food Bank of St. James' Settlement by encouraging staff members to donate surplus gifts received during CNY to the underprivileged. More than 120 CNY food items were received and donated to the needy.
