Life Rejuvenation Scheme 2007 - Art for More The closing ceremony and exhibition of the Life Rejuvenation Scheme 2007 - Art for More programme was held at New World Centre on 24 November 2007, marking a successful conclusion of the programme. At the closing ceremony, several volunteers were invited to share with the audience their experiences from participating in the programme. Afterwards, volunteers and beneficiaries joined hands to give a wonderful dance performance, which received warm applause from the audience. A week-long exhibition was held after the closing ceremony to share the achievements of the programme with the community.

NWS Volunteer Alliance organized two art workshops at TWGHs Fong Shu Chuen Day Activity Centre cum Hostel on 20 October and 3 November 2007. Volunteers joined mentally handicapped beneficiaries at the center in making masks, Christmas ornaments and Christmas cards.

The September Art for More workshop went outdoors on 1 September 2007, when NWS Volunteer Alliance members took about 30 participants on a visit to NWFB's bus depot, and let them try their hand at being a bus captain during the visit.

Members of NWS Volunteer Alliance and Fairy Volunteers from the Hans Andersen Club jointly organized two more art workshops at TWGHs Fong Shu Chuen Day Activity Centre cum Hostel on 14 July and 11 August 2007, in preparation for an exhibition to be held in December 2007.

Life Rejuvenation Scheme 2007 - Art For More

The Life Rejuvenation Scheme 2007, co-organized by NWS Volunteer Alliance and TWGHs Fong Shu Chuen Day Activity Centre cum Hostel, has continued to enjoy a huge following. Over 100 volunteers participated in the three art workshops held from April to June 2007. Two volunteers served as tutors and led participants to design a logo for Art for More and made rice-dumplings with silk ribbons on 21 April 2007 and 2 June 2007 respectively. On 12 May 2007, a plastic flower workshop was held to celebrate Mother's Day.

The first workshop was held on 3 March 2007. By making use of recycled red packets, participants and volunteers shared their creative ideas and created collages together.

Life Rejuvenation Scheme 2007 - Art for More

NWS Volunteer Alliance launched Life Rejuvenation Scheme 2007 in conjunction with TWGHs Fong Shu Chuen Day Activity Centre cum Hostel. With the theme of Art for More, the programme comprises games and art workshops for some 50 mentally disabled participants. The programme aims to develop participants' potential, skills and creativity, and to enhance their self-confidence through the games and workshops.

Over 20 volunteers from the NWS Volunteer Alliance paid a visit to the centre on 27 January 2007 to take a look at the facilities and observe the leisure activities for the mentally disabled. The volunteers were briefed by staff of the centre on the communication skills with the mentally disabled.
