Anti-drug Volunteer Programme kicked off
A long-term programme of anti-drug volunteer services for the
rehabilitating youths of Caritas Wong Yiu Nam Centre was rolled out with the
first service being a bus tour. After enjoying a Christmas buffet provided free
by True Success Hong Kong Limited, our volunteers and the rehabilitating youths
rode on an open-top bus sponsored by New World First Travel Services Limited
for the dazzling Christmas lights around Central District and Tsim Sha Tsui.

Christmas Decorations at Drug Rehabilitation Centre
While Christmas is approaching, volunteers of NWS Volunteer
Alliance visited the Caritas Wong Yiu Nam Centre to put on Christmas
decorations with the collaboration of drug rehabilitating youths. They were
divided into groups to decorate the living room, bedroom, office, etc.

Anti-drug Volunteer Training and Visit to Drug
Rehabilitation Centre
Situated at Tseung Kwan O, Caritas Wong Yiu Nam Centre provides
one- to three-month's rehabilitation service for male drug dependent persons
aged between 16 and 30. Following a training day camp organized by the
Narcotics Division, NWS Volunteer Alliance specially arranged another training
for its volunteers, at which the centre staff explained the background and
needs of the centre and the youths. The volunteers also learnt the
communication skills. Through games and sharing they got to know each other and
many were looking forward to more activities.

Anti-drug Volunteer Training Day Camp
The Anti-drug Volunteer Group under the Narcotics Division of
the Government organized a volunteer training day camp on 18 October 2003 in
order to equip volunteers with necessary skills to implement anti-drug
campaigns. Being one of the corporate volunteers, NWS Holdings was represented
by six volunteers to participate in the comprehensive training, which includes
talks on drug information and rehabilitation services in Hong Kong, as well as
a visit to a rehabilitation centre where volunteers had lunch, sharing and
games with the rehabilitating persons.
