NWS Hong Kong Geo Wonders Hike 2011-12
The 4th NWS Hong Kong Geo Wonders Hike launched a new series of competitions, including a
- bus body advertisement design competition;
- slogan competition;
- drawing competition;
- writing competition targeted for citizens aged 55 years old or above.
Public guided tours will start from November to encourage citizens from all walks of life to appreciate the spectacular landforms in Hong Kong.
NWS Hong Kong Geo Wonders Hike will also launch the first Young Ambassador for Geoconservation training programme. Forty student representatives will participate in a 36-hour training programme by geo-experts. The ambassadors will then take part in the public guided tours and related educational activities.

Between April and May 2011, NWS Hong Kong Geo Wonders Hike organized several guided tours for the underprivileged to Hong Kong National Geopark in Sai Kung.

NWS Hong Kong Geo Wonders Hike 2010 - 11
The last public hiking tour of NWS Geo Wonders Hike 2010 - 2011, Tung O Ancient Trail, was held on 23 January 2011. The journey, which started from Tung Chung and ended in Tai O, with volunteers acting as tour guides along the way, attracted over 1,000 participants.
"I ♥ Hong Kong Geo Wonders" video competition has also come to a successful conclusion. The entries demonstrate outstanding creativity and effectively convey the message of conservation. The results of the Best Video Award and the Most Liked Award have been announced at the competition website (http://geovideo.nws.com.hk). The Best Video Award winning entry has also been shown on NWFB/Citybus and NWFF.
