NWS Holdings held green site visit
NWS Environmental Committee organized a site visit to the Hong Kong Productivity Council for committee members and green managers on 9 June 2011. Participants gained knowledge in the operations of utilizing food waste and wastewater. They also visited the Indoor Air Quality Information Centre and the Environment Product and Innovation Laboratory.

Macau Power holds "Car Free Day"
Macau Power has set the first day of each month beginning from June as "CEM Car Free Day", calling on its staff to travel on foot or by public transport instead of driving alone, in order to reduce vehicle emissions and protect the environment.

New World Green Week 2011
To support New World Green Week 2011, NWS Holdings and member companies held various green activities in June. Activities organized by NWS Holdings included Love Food.Hate Waste Slogan Competition encouraging staff members to treasure food and reduce food waste; Green Birthday Party where colleagues were asked to bring along their own reusable utensils to enjoy organic food; and the Low-carbon Cooking Contest for staff to showcase their low-carbon dishes with the aim of promoting green eating habits.

Corporate Partner of the Corporate Sustainability for Schools Programme
Being a Corporate Partner of the Corporate Sustainability for Schools Programme, NWS Holdings strives to promote corporate sustainability to secondary school students. On 11 March 2011, the Group organized a visit to NWFB depot for a group of students from Po On Commercial Association Wong Siu Ching Secondary School to learn about the green buses and eco-friendly operations management.
